You have a small business, maybe you are a consultant, a project manager or a small scale manufacturer or retailer. So you've got everything else, a business card, pamphlets and the all the other marketing stuff that we are all taught to get.

The question is...do you have a website?

Most small business owners, don't have a website.

And the cause could be that it all seems rather complicated, technical and expensive.

Others still, don't know whether to get a blog or website. In fact, what exactly is blog?

I hope the explanation below will put things into perspective for you, the reader.

Thanks to tools today on the internet such as Blogger and Wordress, starting a blog is relatively easy. In fact if you are a non IT person, a blog is more user friendly than a website.

The purpose of a website and the purpose of a blog have usually been different from the start.

Websites have traditionally been more formal; providing information such details on the company and details on products or services being offered.

Blogs on the other have traditionally been more interactive allowing the readers of the blog to communicate directly with the owner of the blog.

Blogs are great relationship building tools whilst websites are great informational tools.

So what should you get? A blog or a website?

The answer is actually both. People are looking for information online (website) and to build relationships (blog). So the natural approach is to do both.

Again, thanks to advances in tools on the internet. Starting a blog site is not complicated if you are technically inclined or cheap if you would rather someone set one up for you.

You can get more information on to get yourself a blog site in a matter of days on this site: http://www.start-blog-site.org/

I hope you found the information useful.
