We use Netcash but they require a signature on a physical form.

Problem with Paypal is our customers wouldn't typically have a Paypal account

hi everyone, thanks for the information. It's been useful as I have been looking into this for my business.

Has anyone had any experience with Webcash? They offering seems to be affordable and simple for clients to use.

I've tried contacting them twice in 2 days with no response or returning my messages.

Yes it looks a reasonable fee to pay but there not getting back to you is a little disturbing. I tried calling there number and it goes to a message answering machine. If they don't respond to your email by at least the next day then maybe this is not the payment service you want.

Another update:

I have been using Payfast for the last 2 weeks.

A number of transactions have failed because the OTP's have not gone through to clients.

I am losing orders because of this. It's costing me money!

I’ve just checked my stats.

I switched back to using Payfast on 18 Feb. (1 week ago)

Since then 4 clients have chosen to pay by credit card. 2 of those transactions have failed and I have lost the business.

Of the 2 that were successful, 1 initially failed. The client went back and resubmitted the order.

Please have a look at your logs and tell me what went wrong.

Has anybody tried EcoPay ?

I've been using NetCash for about 6 or 7 years now. My company collects debit orders as well as Credit Card payments and I have to say, their service is very good. I have considered PayFast and the likes, but at the end of the day you get what you pay for.

Our international clients can only pay with VISA or Master Card but that's generally not a big issue.

I have now come to the conclusion that anybody that is serious about ecommerce needs their own, proper merchant account.

I've been using PayFast and Monsterpay, but around 70% of my transactions are not going through. Whatever the reason may be (fraud prevention, 3D secure etc) - 70% is just too high.

I just lost a R10500 sale because of this.

I will go speak to my bank about getting a Merchant account on Monday!!

PayFast has been working well over the last few weeks, although I previously had some issues with them.

Good news from them this morning....

We're dropping our fee for accepting credit card payments by over 20%! Starting next Monday (April 1st, 2013 *) all Visa and MasterCard payments through PayFast will now only be subject to a base fee of 3.9%. **
