Videos come in tow categories on YouTube: very good and flippin expensive or cheap and crappy. It is best not to have any video than a cheap and crappy one, so how do you get to market your business online using video without having to sell the car or one of your staff members?

I read an interesting article saying that some of the cheaper videos on YouTube had got a better response than the more expensive videos.

The reasoning was that the more expensive videos felt more like an advert, while the cheaper videos were more personal.

I'd like to hear your thoughts on how small businesses can market themselves using videos / YouTube.

I can upload amateur video footage straight from my iPhone to YouTube and I find it a great tool for marketing what I do.

Melanie. Great video, thanks. You should download the video editing app and add some text and an intro to make it a more effective marketing tool.

Online video is a representative of company which works 24/7 and can be seen by anyone world wide who has internet access. The thing about video is that it is versatile and can be used in many applications above and beyond the internet. At 2C Productions we produce marketing videos which are professional and affordable. Yeah I believe video marketing is also a great and powerful tool to advertise your business whether it is small or big. Anyone can watch your video and go viral if it is really worth interesting.

There is a place for high quality video but there is also a place for amateur video's like Melanie's. We are busy adding functionality to our site that allows home service providers to upload video of their work. A kitchen guy who has a video portfolio of his work is much more likely to get my business than somebody who doesn't.

YouTube is the second largest search engine WORLDWIDE.

you can bet to have videos increase as a medium for adverts, as internet speeds improve, and it would be suicidal for your business not to have them as part of your strategy.
There are free tools like microsoft movie maker that do not need as much technical knowledge as the others.
But to avoid 'crappy' videos, your best bet is to use professional, but low cost video designers like www.netmarketer.co.za
