Ok so I realise that I have to get with the times….

Even with our small business tracking of sales, invoicing, costs and bookkeeping is becoming a BIT of a challenge. Time to move it up a level and get my self a good all-round program to do all the so called ‘paper work’ I was using an existing program which was great really, however when my PC died last year and I bought my self this new toy. I had lost the program ‘Quick books’ for good.

I have made my own little bookkeeping system using Excel (love Excel) but I am self taught so I am limited, by my ‘know how’. Pastel seems like a good alternative! I’ve herd good things. Economics are bad to say the least, so I won’t just buy something.

I need to track client sales, (wholesale) I also have consignment clients. There are retail sales and exports.
Tracking costs could be quite helpful, not to mention the TAX man.
A good invoicing system would be well loved.

Any suggestions or feedback on what people out there are using would be great. The only thing I know I don’t want, is an online system. My internet connection isn’t as reliable as it could be. I can muddle through for a while longer as I am, but I’m interested in what’s out there?

As an exporter you might need to work in multi currencies???
Then you would need pastel partner with the mutli currency add on module.

Otherwise, pastel xpress will meet your needs.

Well now that was fast..
There was a ring on the doorbell that very afternoon and yehaa I have demos. Thank you my plan today is to sit down and have a look.
the 'My invoicing' looks like a very good possible starting point. As that is my imidiate need.

The Pastel My Invoicing package is very simple, you should also look into the next package up which is Pastel My Business. It includes tracking of general expenses. Quite affordable at R799. Let me know if you need any advice!
