Hi All,
I build a website for a client who does kitchen cabinets. I personaly think the site came out very nice but the client says he needs more inpact. Can you please have a look at www.matrixkitchens.co.za and help with any suggestions. Will really appreciate.

To be honest, I don't think the site looks great. The logo looks like it doesn't belong there. It doesn't blend in withe the rest of the site.

That logo looks like it needs to be on a white background.

Thanks for your quick reply. I changed the logo to go with the black background. The square on the left is the business emblem.

You have a < / article > tag on the home page that doesn't belong. I viewed it in Firefox view source code - line 94. No page titles. Very bad for page and website rankings.

The site looks good but it doesn't have direction, it doesn't say anything. I think that's what your client wants? Ask them what they mean by lacks impact. E.g. for a site we did for a security company, we come up with an idea of using photos of different scenarios with dynamic text appearing over the photos. We had a girl sleeping on her desk and the text was - Tired of worrying about your assest, Call the professional, Call blah blah. Another image was a man dressed in a sci-fi costume and the text was - A Friend of a Friend of a Friend, DIY Security? Call the Professionals, Call Blah Blah. All the content was about using professional security, that was the direction. The client loved it!

The logo background (plain black) doesn't match the website background?

Personally - I think I would have rather gone with a white kind of background, seeing as kitchens are clean / white etc....

I'm replying to this post from a online marketing perspective.

What do you want to achieve with the website?
Sales, creating awareness, building credibility, customer service, lead generation or something else?

From what I saw, I identified 'creating awareness' and 'building credibility'.

What I didn't see is how exactly do you go about solving your client's problems. What is it that makes you unique in your industry? How would your prospect know that you want to help him/her specifically?

The customer just wanted to display his units. On the main page there was a block with info about the business and a profile about the owner. The business logo he wanted like that. He asked me to remove his profile and just put 4 pictures of the business on the About us page. He liked the black background. He was happy with everything I did. I charged him R1200.00 for everything and he was Happy. Them suddenly after a month he says its not professional and we who stay in rural areas (Oudtshoorn) are not used to quality. Ask me to take it of the net and will not pay for anything. I think somebody influenced him to get him to change to another site builder.
