:blush: hello everyone... i'm new to this and am trying to get my feet or rather my fingers around this whole business thing. I am a qualified mechanic, who has started my own business, but I need some help with my book keeping... ANYONE please help.... :) thanks

You're going to need to be a bit more specific.

What do you need help with?

Have you bought a basic accounting package?
Have you hired a bookkeeper?

Have you actually started your business? got money coming in and out yet?

We have a basic accounting course - full day - that you may be interested in. The main thing is,k whatever you do, keep good records, keep all your slips and all your transactions so that everything is at hand when you start sorting it all out and becoming organised!
